Firmware Update Policy
Not all Shelly Gen2+ devices receive the same firmware updates. This page explains the current firmware update policy and lists the devices that have reached feature freeze.
Update Policy
| Group | Firmware Policy |
|---|---|
| All Gen3 and Gen4 devices | Receive all updates. |
| Gen2 devices still in active production | Receive all updates. |
| Gen2 devices with a direct Gen3/Gen4 replacement | Firmware 1.7.x is the last release to include new features. Critical bug fixes will continue where necessary. |
Feature-Frozen Gen2 Devices
The following Gen2 devices reached feature freeze with firmware 1.7.x and will not receive 2.0.0 or future feature updates:
- Shelly Plus 1 / Plus 1 Mini
- Shelly Plus 1 PM / Plus 1 PM Mini
- Shelly Plus 2 PM
- Shelly Plus PM Mini
- Shelly Plus I4
- Shelly Plus Plug S
- Shelly Plus Plug US
- Shelly Plus H&T
- Shelly Plus 0-10V Dimmer
- Shelly BLU Gateway

If your device is listed above, it will keep working with its current feature set and receive critical bug fixes where necessary, but will not gain new features. If your device is not listed, it continues to receive full firmware updates.
